It’s been a long time. I shouldn’t have left you.

I know. But I’m back and I’m better. I hope. And I have to share an amazing show that I was able to attend last month! The songwriting and production duo known as Louis York have moved their Weirdo Workshop to my neck of the woods and kicked off 2018 with a great show.

Tucked behind a 5th & Taylor, a restaurant that serves very little food for too much money, is The Back Corner. This bar/club/concert venue fusion has the potential to become one of my favorite spots in the city. I’ll give them some time to get more inclusive DJ’s. Anyway, the venue isn’t why I’m here. LOUIS YORK is so bomb!

Last week was my second time enjoying their live show since they’ve relocated and I’m ready for more. Backed by an extremely talented band, the duo fed the crowd all of our favorites from all three Masterpiece Theater Acts. How do I know? Because, “This is my song!” echoed throughout the crowd for literally every song.

My favorite part of the evening was by far Weirdo Workshop’s new leading ladies. The Shindellas don’t have any singles yet and every time I think about it, I get upset all over again.

Three women from three different cities with three unique voices make up this trio. AND. THEY. ARE. PERFECT. Their voices meld together effortlessly. Harmonies upon harmonies had the audience mesmerized. And they only performed three songs! I’m ready for a single, an EP or something! Anything! I just want more!

It’s safe to say that I’ll be front and center for all things Louis York and The Shindellas in the future. If they’re ever in a city near you, do not play yourself. GO!
